Joe Paul, Founder & CEO

As Founder and CEO of OptimaNova AI, he helps nonprofits, foundations, public agencies, and growing businesses turn AI from an intimidation point into an operational advantage. He sits on the D.C. mayor's AI advisory board, has spoken on AI at the White House, and hosts AI On Thursdays, a weekly LinkedIn Live series that makes AI practical for leaders who aren't technical.
Before OptimaNova, Joe served as CEO of Byte Back, where he raised more than $4.5 million and led the organization to Nonprofit of the Year honors in 2022. That work earned him a 2023 SXSW Innovation Award in Community Service in Technology. He is the author of six books, including AI For Good and The 5th Quadrant, and his work has been featured on ABC News, Politico, NBC, and the Associated Press. Joe brings more than 20 years of executive leadership to every engagement. His approach is simple: technology only works when people actually use it.
